The service charges listed above are for the types of appliances as detailed. When you contact us to enquire about a service on your gas appliance, it is important that you let us know the make and model of your gas boiler, fire, stove or range cooker. This is necessary to enable us to obtain any essential service parts before attending your appliance. Undertaking a correct service in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, requires essential gaskets / seals to be replaced. Failure to replace combustion seals contravenes the Manufactures instructions and to undertake service works that compromise combustion seals may place your appliance in an AT RISK or IMMEDIATELY DANGEROUS condition furthermore, it would be an offence under the Gas Safety (Installation and use) Regulations 1998 as amended, for a Gas Safe Registered engineer to undertake work upon a gas appliance or gas system and to leave it in an unsafe condition. Certain types of Unsafe situations are reportable to the Health & Safety Executive under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR 2013).
Gas Safety Inspections: Gas Safety Inspections for both private clients and Landlords are undertaken to establish the installation type, the correctness of the methods and materials utilised, the safe working of any gas supplies and appliances connected to it, if any unsafe situations currently exist upon any appliance or its installation and any remedial works that may be required. A Gas Safety Inspection DOES NOT include any service or repair upon any gas appliance. A service / repair of your gas appliance or appliances can be arranged in advance and undertaken at the same time as the safety inspection. If you would like this carried out, please ensure you advise us of the appliance make and model, so we are able to obtain any critical parts as required in accordance with the Manufacturers instructions, before attending your property and undertaking any service work upon your appliance. Failure to advise us of your appliance make and model prior to any service visit, will result in an aborted call until we can obtain any critical parts as specified by the appliance Manufacturers.
Fume Investigation: Fume investigation involves the detection of the spillage into the domestic or commercial environment of the Products of Combustion (PoC). The products of combustion are discharged when any fuel is burnt (not just gas and oil). These discharges can occur within the internal environment or can be a result of egress into a building from other sources. The most familiar combustion product know to many is of course Carbon Monoxide, but many other products are also contained within flue gases or discharge from other burning materials/fuels If you think you have, or may have been exposed to Fume Spillage from a gas, oil or solid fuel appliance, where possible, turn off the appliance immediately, ventilate the property, get out and where a gas appliance may be involved, contact the Gas Emergency Service on – 0800 111 999 and follow their instructions. The Emergency Service will attend for a gas installation, make safe and then advise you to contact a Gas Safe Registered engineer to check your gas appliances top find the source of the problem. For other fuels, follow the advice of the appropriate Governing Body. If you require ourselves to investigate your premises / dwelling for the spillage of the Products of Combustion, then contact us without delay. A charge is applied by ourselves to undertake the investigation for the spillage of combustion products and is currently set a £40,00 per hour. For more information on Fume Investigations, please dop not hesitate to contact us.
